He couldn’t solve a simple equation (and this makes me feel super awesome because I have no empathy for others and I enjoy feeling superior to what I don’t understand!). He is an electrical engineer now and makes money using other people, and I’ll punctuate this with an exclamation mark to alienate millions of engineers and again make myself feel COOL! He has no skill whatsoever (because I say this and I expect you to believe it regardless of the truth which is bigger than my naive perspective). His employees just do the work. He takes credit (As soon as I start disliking someone I start thinking about all the ways that I can trash talk them behind their back, regardless of the truth or whether or not I have a clue what is really going on). Life is full of those guys. They suck! (tell me about it…). It’s kind of funny if you think about it (but if you REALLY thought about it, you’d realize that you don’t know shit about me, and I don’t know shit about this guy. I only know what I see, and that’s not the full picture, especially when it’s tainted by my initial dislike of him.) I think I’ll tack on something about academics generally sucking now that I’ve typed up a nice unorganized bunch of text that puts down someone else who can’t defend them self, and makes me feel better. Academia sucks! And, something about science, I guess. And wake up people! Can you read between whatever poorly drawn lines exist?

Thanks for pointing out this point because I admit I have been a bit hazy on it. The “t” suffix is common for irregular British verbs. So no, she did not spell the word wrong.

However, you are a little confused. “Learnt” is NOT common in American English, it’s the other way around; it’s common in British English and virtually unused in American English. It is used occasionally in Canadian English, although most who speak American English will find it to sound weird and thus incorrect (hence my reaction).

Don’t believe me? Do a basic Google search for the difference between learnt and learned, and you will find sites like this one: . My spell checker is underlining the word as misspelled.

If you’re going to try to correct a “troll” (which I suppose is the name you have for someone who points out obvious absurdities and flaws in logic that people make these days?), you should at least get your facts right.

Actually, she didn’t spell “learnt” wrong. “Learned” is common in British English, while “learnt” is common in American English. You see that. Here’s a few other examples, just so you don’t make a mistake the next time you decide to troll someone:
